Rockets and John Wall agree to seek a trade

Nobody is taken by surprise by this news, although it is now when it takes real form. The Houston Rockets and John Wall have agreed to part ways. Therefore, they will work together with the purpose of closing a transfer that benefits both parties, as reported by the media. The Athletic.

The point guard will participate in the training camp of the Texas franchise that begins in two weeks but the plan is that he does not wear short again with the Rockets in an official game. In a meeting between Wall and the Rockets, management explained to the player the direction the franchise will take, revitalized with a large number of young people.

Thus, the five-time All-Star would have no place in Houston’s future, so the organization wants to protect his health to achieve the best possible trade and not harm the player’s ability to continue competing at a high level.

The same sources affirm that the franchise does not contemplate the termination of Wall’s contract, which will last for two more years and a total of 91.7 million dollars, the second of them being subject to a player option worth 47 ,4 millions.

Wall will begin his 12th season in the NBA and both the Rockets and he are aware of the great difference between the two in terms of expectations and project. The Texas franchise has plunged into a new era full of young talents such as Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr., Christian Wood, Jae’Sean Tate, Alperen Sengun and Usman Garuba.

In a total of 40 games played during the past year, the 31-year-old Raleigh averaged 20.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists.
