Questions and answers about LaLiga salary caps: How much can Sporting and Oviedo spend this season?

To put the current figures in context The agreement of the League with the CVC investment fund must be taken into account. The entity chaired by Javier Tebas will distribute 2,100 million euros, in the form of loans, to the clubs, after reaching a strategic agreement with the international investment fund CVC. Of the money that the clubs enter, 70% will have to go to investments (infrastructure or technological innovation), 15% can be used to register players, lowering the pressure of the salary limit, and the other 15% can be used to amortize financial debt.

Taking into account this injection, the figures for Oviedo and Sporting are explained. The blue club has seen the salary cap increased by half a million euros from a year ago (9.06 million euros) and remains at 9.595. Before last season’s winter market, Oviedo had 9,060 million salary capacity and then it was left with 8,629 million. The blue rise compared to the last data, therefore, would be almost one million euros. Oviedo was one of the Second teams that did not exceed the salary cap last year, but did not receive any compensation. The blue club, before the economic injection of LaLiga, moved in about six million euros.

Sporting, for its part, is the second team in the competition that sees its salary cap grow the most: has seen it increased by more than 4 million euros. Only Malaga has increased it more, by a total of 9 million euros.
