Puerto Rican player José “Palillo” Santiago will be honored in Boston

Puerto Rican player José “Palillo” Santiago Alfonso will be inducted today, Sunday, into the Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum Hall Of Fame.

The event will take place at 12:30 pm at Fenway Park.

Santiago Alfonso is known for guiding the team of Red Sox to a World Series in 1967.

The Puerto Rican also participated in two all-star games and during his career he had 34 wins, 29 losses and had a 3.74 ERA.

In addition to being a player, he stood out for transcending from the diamond to the narration booth and being known for the peculiar way of narrating the plays.

Currently, Juana Díaz’s natural player resides with his wife in Carolina.
