Paralympic Games: Lucas Mazur, gold and silver just minutes apart

Double badminton world champion Lucas Mazur has assumed his status to bring the France team its eleventh gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympic Games on Sunday, the last day of competition.

The French badist won in the singles final (SL4 category) in three sets, 15-21, 21-17, 21-15, against the Indian Suhas Yathiraj.

A first at the Games

It was, for a few minutes, the first medal of the 23-year-old, suffering from a malformation of the right ankle. But also of a French in the discipline since it is the first appearance of badminton in the program of the Games.

Except that in the process, Mazur won the silver medal in doubles (category SL3-SU5), losing to the Indonesian pair Susanto-Oktila in two sets. In a few minutes, Mazur therefore offered himself two medals, of two different metals.
