Once celebrated as a top talent: Reinforcement for the Mavs

Next reinforcement for Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.

Frank Ntilikina, who played for the New York Knicks for the past four years, signed a deal with the Mavericks, where he is expected to earn 1.8 million.

In the 2017 NBA draft, the Knicks pulled the highly regarded guard in eighth place. However, Ntilikina has not yet been able to meet expectations with an average of 5.5 points and 2.7 assists. The 23-year-old was rarely given a lot of trust and playing time (DATES: NBA results and schedule).

Is Ntilikina showing its potential?

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in the summer, he won the silver medal with France (NEWS: All current information about the NBA).

Ntilikina has his strengths especially in defense, but at the age of 23 is still young enough to perhaps develop his potential in Dallas after all.

Before the talent draw in 2017, Ntilikina was counted in scouting reports as “one of the more unique players” in the draft class, he was predicted to become a “valuable part of a contender” (DATA: All tables of the NBA).

The Frenchman was “without a doubt one of the best international players of his generation”, it was said at the time.

Can the point guard prove that under new coach Jason Kidd? The first step for Ntilikina will be to grab a spot on the final roster.
