NBA – Schröder lets fans vote on shirt number: “96 not my favorite”

Cologne (SID) – NBA professional Dennis Schröder has to put on a new shirt number after his move to the Boston Celtics and now lets his fans vote on it. The German national basketball player cannot select the usual 17 from the record champions because it was withdrawn from circulation in honor of the club idol John Havlicek.

Schröder (27) said he would have liked to have taken the 38, but Forward Sam Hauser is already wearing it. “You can choose between the remaining five options,” Schröder is quoted on the voting page (ds17.app/participate/votings/9/). You can choose between 8, 71, 80, 84 and 96.

“As you can imagine, the 96 is not necessarily my favorite because I come from Braunschweig,” said Schröder. The reason for this is the football rivalry between Braunschweiger Eintracht and Hannover 96. Schröder moved from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Celtics in the summer. The vote will run until September 17, 5:17 p.m.
