INDOSPORT.COM – The following is the latest update of the FIFA rankings which was just released on Thursday (16/09/21), where the position of Vietnam and the Indonesian national team has decreased.

According to the latest FIFA rankings, Vietnam has experienced a sharp decline from previously occupying the 92nd position in the world, now becoming the world number 95.

The decline in Vietnam’s ranking was influenced by the poor results of Park Hang-seo’s troops when they underwent the first two matches of the third round of the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.

In the inaugural match of Group B, they were beaten by Saudi Arabia with a score of 1-3 and narrowly lost 0-1 to Australia. Even so, Vietnam still occupies the first position in the Southeast Asian region.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian national team also experienced a decline in ranking from the previous 174, now to 175 in the world. The decline in the position of Shin Tae-yong’s troops is based on the calculation of the international match for the period from August 30 to September 8, 2021.

Despite not playing a match, the Indonesian national team was evicted by Guyana, who successfully won 3-0 over Cyprus in the 2022 World Cup Qualification round in the European zone.

Not only the Indonesian national team, the positions of Thailand and Malaysia have also experienced a decline. Currently, the Garuda squad is still ranked seventh in the FIFA ranking among countries in Southeast Asia.
