NBA 2K22: how to get sponsorship in MyCareer

MyCareer sponsorships are a great way to VC in NBA 2K22, but things have changed a bit this year. Sure, sponsorship works somewhat similarly to NBA 2K21, but you may still need some help along the way. If you’re looking to get confirmation, here’s what you need to do.

To get sponsorship, you’ll first need to join the NBA. From there, be sure to speak to your agent and complete the Approval Agreements mission. Once this is done, you can begin the sponsorship acquisition process. However, you’ll need to focus on two key components of your avatar: fans and personal branding.

Fans can be acquired simply by playing well in MyCareer, just like with VC. A flashy assist or corner three can help you score points, so be sure to use your potential in every game and brighten the scoresheet.

The reason fans are so important is because every sponsorship has a minimum fan threshold. You need to meet the minimum threshold to get the particular one.

The second task, building your personal brand, will require more diligent work. To build your personal brand, you’ll need to take part in missions, answer reporters’ questions both in post-match press conferences and in The City.

Some of the levels will depend on approval. And there may be multiple components for each. For example, an Adidas approval might require you to have flashy level 4, but also fashion level 6 brand status. There are several ways to check the status of each of them. You can go to the Missions menu to see the achievement requirements, or go to your Personal Brand hub, then select Approvals.

We should note that when you see that you can redeem an approval. go to the Acknowledgments page in the Personal Brand menu. Then, select it with A (for Xbox) or X (for PlayStation). From there, you can start increasing the level of your approvals.

Just like getting confirmations, leveling up will depend on different objectives, but they are usually game-based. For example, one approval might take eight wins to progress to the next level, while another might take 12 games. And sponsorships don’t pay VCs on a match-by-match basis. Get the full amount of VC for that approval once you complete the goal for that particular level.
