THE MATCH

The whole coconut tree has started with everything looking for the motagüense arch. Luis Palma, after a pass from Ángel Tejeda, fired from the edge of the area and the ball went just to one side.

Coming to minute 10, left-back Carlos Sánchez nearly scored an Olympic goal, but Argentine goalkeeper Jonathan Rougier saved Motagua as the ball went to the bottom.

Palma came back to life with a right hand that was deflected from the local goal, in the 14th minute.

Motagua managed to open the scoring with a set piece in the 19th minute. Diego Auzqui took a free kick and shook the coconut nets with a beautiful launch. Golazo!

Shortly after, the Ceibeños almost scored an own goal. Juan Pablo Montes got complicated, he left the ball bad for Roberto López, who had come out and the ball was going to the goal, but the goalkeeper arrived quickly to avoid it.

Vida approached with danger in search of the equalizer, but once again Rougier covered a shot from Luis Palma.

Palma reappeared on the scene in the 37th minute. The skilled coconut player mocked Juan Gómez’s mark with great quality, sent the cross and Ángel Tejeda connected with a header to overcome Rougier.

In the 44th minute, Alexander Aguilar hit a tremendous run, reached the edge of the area and took a right-hand shot that covered the Honduran nationalized Argentine goalkeeper.
