Jules Kunde failed to be brought in by Chelsea in the summer transfer market.
INDOSPORT.COM – After failing in the hunt for Jules Kunde in the transfer market last summer, Chelsea don’t seem to want to lament too long, as Kalidou Koulibaly has again teased them to enrich their defensive options.
Report from Four Four Two mentions that Koulibaly will try to be offered by Chelsea in the next winter transfer window. This is not the first time the Senegal international defender has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
When Maurizio Sarri was still in charge of Chelsea, Koulibaly was mentioned as one of the players he wanted to bring from Napoli. Unfortunately, the wish of trainer did not exist and the Stadio San Paolo is still the home of Koulibaly to this day.
Even though he is now 30 years old or eight years older than Jules Kunde, Kalidou Koulibaly can be a quality short or medium term option.
With a contract until June 2023 at Napoli, the price of the FC Metz academy dropout will not be as expensive as Kunde who is allegedly still at 60 million euros.
His more ideal posture for a central defender makes Koulibaly even more suited to Chelsea’s tastes.
The French-born player is 1.87 cm tall or almost 10 cm taller than Kounde. Since the Premier League is very physical, then Koulibaly is clearly superior.
Koulibaly’s quality has also been quite tested even though Napoli is only a dark horse in the Italian football scene. Since joining from Genk in 2014, he has been selected four times in the Serie A best team.
In 2018/2019 then, Koulibaly was even named the number one defender there.
