Dying Light 2 – Return of the cardboard machete?

Good that Dying Light 2 just postponed recently, the developers still continue to reveal more about the highly anticipated sequel to the zombie game. On the menu of the day this time, the weapon system planned in-game. Although the developers have announced that big information will be released in October, they could not help but give us a taste by explaining how the weapons will work in Dying Light 2, For better or for worse.

Few people will be surprised to learn that the game will be equipped with a very large arsenal like its predecessor, with a plethora of weapons to manufacture, each more dangerous than the next. It also seems that the craft will have an even more prominent place in this opus because of the scenario. As a reminder, Dying Light 2 takes place twenty years after the first opus. Weapons are therefore increasingly rare in this apocalypse and will cost much more than in the first game.

The developers were keen to follow this logic, so the weapons will be harder to find and will also have a little more “survivalist” appearance. After twenty years of use, it is not surprising to find machetes or rifles made from odds and ends or standing up to the aid of haphazard repair. Another point that will not please everyone, weapons will still have durability in Dying Light 2. Which inevitably implies that you will not be able to go through the whole adventure with your beloved baseball bat without having to change it several times.

Even if it was already a source of discord in the first opus, the developers still did not want to remove this wear system, like the one used in Dead Island. Techland however specifies that the system will be more worked to prevent the frustration of the players, in particular with sound indications announcing the imminent destruction of our dear equipment. All that remains is to wait until February 22 to make sure.
