Cuba with 160 tickets for the First Youth Pan American Games in Cali 2021

Havana, Sep 13 (ACN) Cuba increased to 160 the qualifiers for the First Junior Pan American Games in Cali 2021, scheduled to take place from November 25 to December 5.

Now the largest of the Antilles has 68 places for women and 92 for men in 24 disciplines, after confirming a place in track cycling, the technical-methodological direction of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder).

For the multisport event for under 23s, tickets are held in badminton (2f and 2m), handball (14-14), baseball (22m), boxing (7m), boating (1-1), cycling (4-4) , diving (4-4), fencing (2-3), rhythmic gymnastics (7f), karate (1m) and weightlifting (2-3).

The list is completed by the Greco-Roman (6m), free (6m) and women’s (6) wrestling, swimming (3-2), artistic swimming (8-1), race skating (2m), figure skating (1m), modern pentathlon (2-2), rowing (2f), table tennis (2-2), taekwondo (2-2), shooting (1m), archery (1-1), triathlon (2-2), candles ( 2-1) and beach volleyball (2-2).

JIT stressed that there are still to be defined classifieds and guests in athletics, judo and perhaps tennis.

A pre-selection of more than 400 athletes is already being prepared at the Cerro Pelado and Giraldo Córdova Cardín High Performance Athletes Training Schools, while the classical and free wrestling teams train in the province of Ciego de Ávila.

More than 3,800 athletes under the age of 23, in 39 disciplines, will meet in Cali, Palmira, Buga, Calima, Jamundí and Yumbo in their quest to reach the main events of the next Olympic cycle: the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile 2023 and the 2024 Paris Olympics.
