Kristaps Porzingis has been progressing from a soleus strain in his right calf, accelerating his progress on the court and increasing his fitness to make his conference finals debut possible once the best-of-seven series returns to Indianapolis, sources said .
Kristaps Porzingisout since he suffered the injury in the Game 4 against him Miami Heat on April 30, missed the entirety of a five-game conference semifinal series over Cleveland and will miss the opener of these conference finals in Boston on Tuesday night.

Kristaps Porzingis was an important addition for the Celtics in the offseason, bringing with him an immense impact on both ends of the floor for the league’s best regular season team. At 7-foot-3, Porzingis averaged 20 points and 7.2 rebounds, including holding opponents to 44.3% in the paint, which was the best in the NBA among opposing defenders shooting 500 or more, according to Second Spectrum.
Porzingis arrived in a three-team offseason trade with Washington and Memphis.
