Chelsea Make Big Mistakes in Tammy Abraham Transfer – Latest Football News, Fixtures and Results

Chelsea are claimed to have made a big mistake regarding the transfers of Tammy Abraham and Timo Werner.

The Blues are currently one of the favorites to win the Premier League after they brought back Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan last month. The Belgium international has also proved his worth as he has scored three league goals, including on his debut against Arsenal.

However, for that, the Blues had to throw their academy graduates to AS Roma and join Jose Mourinho in Serie A this season. While the England international had been the West London club’s top scorer for the past two seasons, his form was not liked by Thomas Tuchel, who then brought in Werner – a player who is currently struggling to score goals for the Blues.

In his 35 Premier League games, the Germany international has scored just six goals for Chelsea, yet to score even a single goal in English football’s top flight this season – although he bagged one against Aston Villa in the League Cup.

The Blues had to fight extra hard in the match against Manchester City which was held at Stamford Bridge at the weekend, until finally the defending champions managed to take control throughout the match and won 0-1.

In that match, Tuchel’s squad could barely get out of their own territory, even Werner failed to threaten Ederson’s goal.

Chelsea outcast Tammy Abraham has scored two goals and provided two assists for the Giallorossi in the short time he joined the Italian club in the summer.

Pundir BBCGarth Crooks believes the Blues are currently regretting his decision to keep Werner and sell Abraham.

“The block on Mateo Kovacic says it all. The way (Ruben) Dias flew across the penalty area at an important point in the game and blocked the opposition’s goal opportunity, it was incredible,” said Crooks as reported by the BBC. Mirror.

“The Portuguese defender was absolutely outstanding, and it looked like he was back to his best when they faced Chelsea,” he added.

“On the other hand, the Blues may have made an important mistake by selling Tammy Abraham to Roma and keeping Timo Werner. Before, I thought Wener might be a better option until Thomas Tuchel liked him,” said Crooks.

“However, it seems that the Germany international has acute stage fright and I feel like nothing can help him.”

Chelsea have a chance to make amends for this loss to City when they face Juventus in the Champions League this week. In the opening match of the European event, the Blues won 1-0 over Zenit St Petersburg.
