BSNF 2021 Tournament will have the support of Anuel AA | Basketball

One year and ten months later, the National Women’s Superior Basketball (BSNF) returns to the courts of Puerto Rico in a tournament that will have the support of the urban music singer, the Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA.

The 2021 season will feature the participation of seven teams and starts this Saturday, at 8:00 pm, with the reissue of the 2019 final between the defending Athenian champions of Manatí and the runners-up Cangrejeras de Santurce, at the Juan Aubin “Bincito Coliseum ”Cruz Abreu.

The tournament – which will be dedicated to the Olympic national team – will feature the quintets of Manatí, Santurce, Carolina, Moca, Toa Baja, Morovis and Cidra.

Anuel AA’s support will be “for several seasons,” according to the general director of BSNF, Luis Gabriel Miranda, in a press conference held on Thursday at a hotel in Isla Verde.

“Organizing the 2021 season has been a challenge. The economic situation and the health protocols make the task very strong. The support of an artist of the fame of Anuel helps to face these difficult times. It also reaffirms the singer’s commitment to Puerto Rican basketball and we are enormously grateful to him and to his manager, Fabrián Eli, ”said Miranda.

Miranda said that “he had been working with this idea for a long time” long before the arrival of Anuel AA and Eli as owners of the Capitanes de Arecibo in the National Superior Basketball (BSN).

The manager stated that this agreement could be the first of multiple collaborations with Puerto Rican exponents of the urban genre.

For her part, Anuel AA assured that she felt “very happy to be able to help the development of women’s basketball in Puerto Rico.”

“In the country we have a lot of talent that needs support and I am more than proud to be part of this and continue with the legacy of this league that even went to the Olympics this year. We are very proud of them and of the triumphs they have achieved. They are yet to come, ”he said in written statements.

Another novelty of the tournament is the return to the WAPA Deportes signal. Ten games will be televised in the regular series, including the All-Star Game. At the conclusion of the Major League Baseball postseason, the television station will play “the decisive games” of the semifinal stage and the entire final series, as reported.

In addition to WAPA Deportes, BSNF will broadcast the games online after reaching an agreement with Synergy Sports.

Canasteras Tayra Meléndez (Carolina), Génesis del Toro (Carolina), Alysha Cotto (Toa Baja), Nicole Rodríguez Becerra (Toa Baja), Dayshalee Salamán (Santurce), Claudia Ortiz (Santurce), Ana Barrientos (Manatí), Katheryn Westbeld (Manatee), Maria Blazejewski (Morovis) and Aryana Moore (Moca) were present at the press conference.

I know it was very strong to be a year without playing, but now this It’s the moment to see us play. To see the Olympians, to see the talent and to appreciate ourselves a little more. It is our job. I urge the fans to meet. Please support us and come to the field, “Salamán said.

On Sunday, September 5, starting at 5:30 pm, there will be two meetings, with Morovis receiving Moca at the José “Pepe” Huyke Coliseum, and Toa Baja visiting Cidra, at the Juanito Cabello Coliseum.

Las Cangrejeras return to the Roberto Clemente Coliseum in San Juan.
