This Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Freedom Palace hotel in Porto-Novo was held the ordinary and elective general assembly of the Benin basketball federation of Benin. With the exception of a few starts, the same ones were chosen to lead the destiny of the Beninese basketball federation. At the end of the work, Ismahinl Onifadé was reappointed, the former president Abdul Alex Paraïso made the election credible.
While several demands are on the table of justice, Ismahinl Onifadé was again elected president of the Benin basketball federation. And yet! This did not obtain the consent of all the various delegates, associations and district representatives. 59 of the 73 delegates gave their consent. Since in the meantime, former president Alex Paraïso has also embarked on the race for the presidency of the body, but belatedly. The latter, who was asked for about thirty days by some frustrated from the outgoing federation, managed to obtain 13 votes out of all the voters despite the very locked system in the north of the country and in the Ouémé / Plateau.
Thus, with the participation of the president of Renaissance BBC in this election, he has just revived democracy in a basketball environment where mono-thought reigned supreme. Now that President Onifadé has carte blanche and the confidence of the majority of players, it’s time for basketball on the floor.
