Knaack was on the mound for the entire second game and did not allow a single point – the perfect farewell. “Oliver did another very good game,” said Alligators coach Thomas Venzke’s frustration. The hosts, for their part, had initially ordered Sören Entress on the mound, who was in a good mood, but the Sluggers still scored three points in the first inning.
Alligator convince on the loft
The answer from the lizards was not long in coming. The Allis were accurate, came back on base and turned the game in the first inning – 4: 3. In the other sections Elmshorn remained focused and scored regularly – the 7: 3 success was never in danger.
In the second game, the home side repeatedly had problems with Knaack’s throws. The left-hander used his routine and made up for the declining power with spin.
Brawl overshadows the game
Shortly before the end of the second encounter, there were unpleasant scenes at the Kaltenweide. After an Elmshorn collided with a Berliner at the base, a pack was formed on the field. It was first pushed before alligator Tim-Oliver Urban was hit in the face by the assistant coach of the Berliner. “That was very unnecessary and doesn’t belong on the baseball field. Pushing is still ok, but a punch is not an option, ”complained Venzke. The minds calmed down after a few minutes and in the end they shook hands.
