After their honorable journey in Kigali from where they returned with the silver medal, the foals of President Mahama Coulibaly continue their tour of presentation of the trophy to the authorities of the country.
They were for this purpose, last Friday, at a dinner offered in their honor at the home of the Minister of Construction, Housing and Urbanism Mr. Bruno Nabagné Koné, who, according to the President of the Ivorian Basketball Federation – ball, was of “invaluable support to them before the preparation of this African campaign”.
This is why he wanted to come and express, on behalf of his entire team, his gratitude to the Minister for the efforts he made to allow the national basketball team to hold this rank which makes us proud today, the whole nation, he added.
Mahama Coulibaly, in the process, proposed to the Minister to become the honorary president of the Ivorian basketball federation. Something that the latter readily accepted, before reiterating his congratulations to our “commando from the ball to the basket”, which nobody expected at this stage, and which finally delighted everyone with their fine performance.
“I am convinced that with a little more resources and preparation you would have had a better result in this competition. The proof is that with the little efforts we have made, you have brought us a silver medal. We are proud of you and I want to assure you of my availability to give you my unfailing support, whenever the need arises, ”said the Minister, a great basketball fan.
This dinner, which took place in a good-natured atmosphere, ended with an exchange of gifts between the Minister of Construction and his hosts.
As a reminder, the basketball elephants achieved a flawless course during this Afrobasket in Rwanda, before losing only three points to the defending team of Tunisia.
