All the champions in history

The Mexican Baseball League turned 95 years old of existence in 2020 after being founded in the distant 1925 by Ernesto Carmona and Alejandro Aguilar Reyes, better known as “Fray Nano”, already From that year on, a tradition of great champions in Mexican ball was founded.

The first one was the ’74 Regiment ‘, in 1925, a group that had its headquarters in Atlixco, Puebla, although it played in the capital of that state; later he moved to Jalapa, Veracruz and finished the season in San Luis Potosí.

Tied for first position at the end of the calendar with the Club Mexico, the LMB decided to do an extra series to define the champion, and although the Mexico won the first game, the 74th Regiment came from behind to win the next three games to be crowned at last on December 6, 1925.

In the previous 94 campaigns, the list has 96 champions, after there were two winners in 2018 for the division of the calendar. From those championships emerge 33 different teams, from the 74th Regiment to the most recent, the Monclova Steelers (2019).

Of the teams that prevail in the circuit, Sultans of Monterrey became the team with the most championships in 1962 with five, four of them under the moniker of Industrial. It was until 1976 when the Red Devils of Mexico They surpassed them to become and remain the group with the most titles in their showcases.
