Tokyo – After the Paralympics, Italy returns home with 69 medals.

The closing ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games was held today. A record result for Italy. 69 medals for the blue booty. There were 11 disciplines in which Italy managed to get on the podium. Archery, athletics, canoeing, cycling, horse riding, judo, shooting, swimming, table tennis, triathlon and fencing.

The Italian standard-bearer was Matteo Parenzan, 18-year-old tennis player and youngest athlete of the Italian expedition.

Yesterday also the historic blue hat-trick in the final of the women’s 100 meters in the T63 category. Ambra Sabatini, Martina Caironi and Monica Graziana Contrafatto climbed the three steps of the podium in the athletics specialty.
