German NFL fans can look forward to a regular season game in Germany. A game from the NFL will take place in Germany by 2023 at the latest.
That was confirmed by Brett Gosper, the NFL manager for Europe and the United Kingdom ran. A game may already be played in Germany in the coming season, said Gosper.
“There will be a game in Germany. The only question is when and where,” said the 62-year-old. “The earliest possible date would be in the 2022 season, but no later than 2023!”
According to Gosper, there are several cities that are eligible for hosting an NFL game in Germany. The circle of candidates is to be reduced to three cities shortly. Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin, among others, are traded as possible venues.
