Will the Rays stay at the top of the East Division?

Summer is moving very fast, so is the baseball season and the results are getting worse…

Let’s focus on the leaders of the most talked-about division here in Quebec (the East Division), the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Rays are currently number one in the ET Division of the American League with 78 wins and 48 losses. So there are 37 parties left for the Rays to control their own destiny and therefore perhaps advance to the playoffs for a third consecutive year and win another division title.

At this point in time, the odds of them securing a playoff spot are 97.3%, unlike the Toronto Blue Jays, who are only 12.2% … which seems a lot in the confidence of the Florida team not to worry about other teams and keep their lead. It’s only four games over the New York Yankees, who have a 91.6 percent chance of making the playoffs. The Boston Red Sox have not said their last word with 76.6% and the Baltimore Orioles are virtually eliminated from the race.

But the rest of the season will not be so easy as there are good teams to face. We are talking about ending the season with a battle with the New York Yankees, which should be decisive. Who will finish at the top, do you think? It will be hot anyway!

I would like to mention here two important elements to the success of the Rays:

  1. The domination of Wander Franco

Clearly all eyes were on one of the league’s best prospects and he has only impressed ever since, with a 25-game goal streak to go to goals, a record for a youngster of 21. years and under since 1961.

2. The acquisition of Nelson Cruz

For the first time in over 20 years, Cruz started a game on first base, and who else but the Rays to add a string to his bow. He says he has never had so much fun in a team and even at 41, he still manages to leave his mark.
