Top transfer in the making: Marseille reports to FC Volendam for Van de Ven

Olympique Marseille wants to release Micky van de Ven from FC Volendam, but the French club has not yet reached a final agreement on the transfer fee. The interest is very serious and a transfer is likely to come.

Marseille’s interest in Van de Ven has been going on for some time. The club inquired about him, then signed Luan Peres from Santos, but has returned for the twenty-year-old defender from Wormer.

The first bid from Marseille was brushed aside by Volendam with a laugh. The French club reportedly offered less than one million euros. The expectation is that Marseille and Volendam, which bet on much more, will eventually find each other. More should become clear around the weekend.

According to well-informed French sources, Marseille has been monitoring the situation around Van de Ven for several months. He is more than open to a move to France and is convinced of the sporting plan the club has for him. Agent Mino Raiola is in negotiations with Marseille about the personal conditions, but that also seems to be going well. According to De Telegraaf, which first brought the news, Van de Ven and Raiola are in France to talk to Marseille.

Van de Ven was also linked to clubs from the Dutch top and sub-top, but due to the high asking price of Volendam, many clubs did not dare or could not take the gamble.
