The Zwettler football players and the voice of Rapid

The SC Zwettl presented its new combat team not on the sports field but in the middle of Zwettl. Including a great supporting program moderated by Thomas Breit. In addition to the Zwettler singer Romy Mayer with her new CD, the former SK Rapid stadium announcer Andy Marek, coming straight from Vienna, presented his new book. The program was spiced up sportily by the football youth hope Christoph Führer. He managed to “Gaberln” his soccer ball 450 times. That means he just let the football dance uninterruptedly on foot, head and shoulder without letting it hit the ground.

ÖVP city councilor Anne Blauensteiner, even football-savvy, could not be persuaded to do a self-test. “I don’t have the right shoes on now. But this time we want to present the SC Zwettl with its athletes in the city as part of the “Summer days”.
Trainer Helmut Lamatsch and moderator Thomas Breit asked every single player of the fighting team on stage. “We are happy to be able to play again. Unfortunately, some players still suffer from the consequences of their sports injuries. Nevertheless, we have a good squad again, ”said Helmut Lamatsch with conviction.

Mayor Franz Mold emphasized the importance of the associations in the city. “We have over 130 clubs, including over 30 sports clubs, of which SC Sparkasse Zwettl is one of the best known. In addition to the combat team, the club also offered many young people the opportunity to train outdoors during the Corona period. “

Romy Mayer from Zwettler sang not about the joy of football but about love. Her first song on her new CD “Ich nenn es mal Liebe” will soon be followed by more. But until then, she and Johanna Kronsteiner will organize a special concert evening from baroque to classical in Ottenstein Castle on August 12th.
And then he did. Andy Marek arrived a little late, but still at the right time, right on the pitch. With his new book “Mein Leben mit Rapid 27,5” in his luggage. Not as a reading but in his own way as a rousing speaker, he gave insights behind the scenes of the popular Austrian football club. After 20 minutes of anecdotes spiced with personal stories, it was time for the autographs.

Mayor Franz Mold was one of the first fans to secure the newly printed book. A personal dedication by Andy Marek from the Waldviertel for the member of the Landtag was obligatory.
