The Unió Esportiva Olot, which celebrates its own this year centenarian, will do the proclamation of the festivities of the Tura. A representation of the club received yesterday in the session hall the municipal order for the next September 4 to open the festival of the capital of Garrotxa. The Mayor, Pep Berga, and the Councilor for Festivities, Agustí Arbós, sent the request to the President of the Union, Joan Agustí; the player Alba Prat (who has been part of the club since 2017), the former player Abel Solé (1999-2017) and the former player Pep Solés (1982-1993), who is currently president of the former players of the Union.

“Because of the importance that the club has for the city, for its centenary history and for all the people who have been part of it during these years, from the categories of grassroots football to the first team, we thought it appropriate that Olot can make this year’s proclamation“, Said the mayor, Pep Berga. The mayor added that it is also “a recognition of the way football is understood, of the club’s fans” and that “it wants to be a sign of the city’s support for a start to the season like the one we will now undertake”.

Incorporated since 1921

The Unió Esportiva Olot was set up in 1921. It is recorded in the register of the Catalan Football Federation under the name of Olot Football Club, although, in reality, the practice of this sport in the city dates back to 1902. At the beginning of 2020 the acts of the commemoration were presented, which this July has given the start to the activities with the discovery of the ephemeris logo and poster, as well as the partners ’campaign for next season.
