The French eliminated in the round of 16 of the team tournament at the Tokyo Olympics

The French men’s archery team will not win a medal at the Tokyo Games. The French archers (Thomas Chirault, Pierre Plihon and Jean-Charles Valladont) were eliminated as soon as they entered the team tournament on Monday by the Americans (6-0).

During the second set, Jean-Charles Valladont, who was not warned by the previous torchbearer Pierre Plihon of the time remaining to him, was unable to shoot his last arrow, an error which weighed down the chances of the French. But, overall, the Blues have never been able to compete with the Americans, led by Brady Ellison, the reigning world champion.

The Americans, who had already beaten the French in the TQO team semi-finals in Paris at the end of June, will face Japan in the quarter-finals.
