A hero as a father
As an athlete, he will never be able to perform a greater feat than now as a dad! NBA star Andre Drummond saved the life of his two-year-old son thanks to a lightning reaction. After Drummond Jr. plunged into his own pool, his daddy immediately jumped after and was able to pull him out before anything worse happens. A surveillance video recorded the incident with a happy ending.
Dramatic incident at your own pool
Andre Drummond has experienced quite a few dramatic moments in his career. Last season he wanted to win the NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers and superstar LeBron James. That that didn’t work was a huge disappointment for Drummond. If he still had to nibble on it, he realized that day how unimportant sport can be.
When he and his family wanted to spend a few quiet hours at their pool in Philadelphia, where Drummond will play for the 76ers in the coming season, there was a huge moment of shock. The two-year-old son Deon suddenly slipped into the water – but thanks to his daddy that had no further consequences. Drummond switched on immediately, sprinted to the pool, jumped into the water, and pulled his son out. This is how the NBA star saved his son’s life.
Son was unharmed
The center made its heroic deed public itself, posted a surveillance video on Twitter. “Not all heroes wear capes. The worst nightmare for parents … with me and my son,” wrote Drummond and added three smiling smileys. The fact that the family can laugh about it today is mainly thanks to the courageous commitment of the basketball player. The assured: “Nobody in this video was injured.” (sho)
