Spurs offer first two-way contract

Spurs haven’t signed any two-way contract players so far, but according to The Athletic, they’ve found a first player. They will sign Joe Wieskamp (21 years old, 1m98).

Out of Iowa, he was selected in 41st position by the Spurs in the last draft. The winger, an excellent shooter, was 14.9 points at 49.1% including a superb 46.2% from distance, 6.7 rebounds and 1.7 passes in 29.3 minutes.

He played 8 games with the Spurs during the Las Vegas and Salt Lake City summer leagues averaging 8.5 points at 39.1% including 23.7% away, 5.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists. He is expected to spend most of his time in the G-League at the Austin Spurs, although he will be able to participate in a maximum of 50 NBA games.

To note that Keita Bates-Diop, who was in two-way contract last season received a qualifying offer and could be the second two-way contract.
