Almost three months after winning the Conmebol Recopa, Fluminense players, coaching staff and directors posed for the official photo of the unprecedented title. The click was made this Saturday morning (11/05), at the Carlos Castilho Training Center.

The athletes wore the champion sash and wore the traditional tricolor uniform. Football department employees also posed for the photo.

Boosted by a packed Maracanã, Fluminense won the unprecedented title by defeating LDU-EQU 2-1 on February 29th. In the duel that put the winners of the Libertadores and Sul-Americana 2023 face to face, the Team of Warriors came out on top on a historic night. The hero of the 2-0 victory was Jhon Arias, who scored both goals. The Colombian spoke about the achievement and the importance of immortalizing it once again with the official photo, which joins the gallery of so many glories in the club’s history.

“It is very important to leave this record of the achievement we had. It was a very important title, which came this year to crown the very remarkable year we experienced in 2023. It was a title that we worked hard on, that we knew would be important to achieve. It’s a feeling of gratitude for living it here and for having had the opportunity to score those two goals. Let’s look for new moments of glory again.”, he said.

Coach Fernando Diniz also commented on Fluminense’s record of yet another title.

“It’s great to be able to immortalize these moments in images, in a photograph with everyone together. To get a title, a lot of people work. Today we managed to bring together a lot of people and it is a special moment for all of us”, said the coach.

After the photo, the players changed their uniforms and trained under the command of coach Fernando Diniz. The team returned this Saturday (11/05), after the 1-0 victory over Colo-Colo, in Chile, last Thursday (09/05).
