Singapore Airport is no longer the best in the world. Qatar has the first place

Doha Airport, for example, earned first place for expanding and modernizing during a pandemic. Qatar’s Qatar Airways flagship carrier was also one of a handful of companies that did not stop operating during the coronavirus crisis. Dealing with various security measures and the like also played a big role in the evaluation.

“This is not only a truly memorable success for Doha Hamad Airport and the whole of Qatar, but also a confirmation from our passengers that we provide them with excellent services,” commented Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, head of the airport. “Our preparedness, continuous business strategy and effective response to the covidu-19 pandemic are appreciated by leading institutions in aviation,” he added.

Skytrax boss Edward Plaisted said the airport deserved the award for excellent safety and hygiene standards, as well as for maintaining operations.

They appreciated the staff and cleanliness

Tokyo’s Haneda Airport came in second. The third is Singapore’s Changi, which has dominated the rankings for many years thanks to above-standard service, the environment and various gadgets that helped passengers save time while waiting for a connection.

Incheon International Airport in South Korea, Tokyo’s Narita, Munich, Zurich, London Heathrow, Kansai Airport in Japan and finally Hong Kong also made it into the top ten airports.

The Skytrax portal, which deals with the evaluation of airports, but also airlines, also awarded prizes in other categories. For example, Changi, Singapore, has won the award for the best airport staff, and Haneda in Tokyo is the cleanest airport in the world. The most improved airport is Istanbul and passengers will find the best security measures at Incheon Airport.
