Serena Williams commits to diversity in fashion with her “SW Design Crew”

The first collection of the “Serena Williams Design Crew” (SWDC) is finally ready. This learning program to promote diversity in design was launched by the champion two years ago, in collaboration with her equipment supplier Nike. Ten young New York designer apprentices got their hands dirty to concoct this streetwear collection inspired by the 1990s and the career of the American, winner of 23 Grand Slams.

This series includes shoes, clothing and accessories for women. Next year, the SWDC will travel to Chicago to recruit another young team and develop new articles. The 39-year-old tenniswoman had already launched in 2018 her own brand of clothing, Serena.
