Moussa Djenepo: The Biggest Disappointment of the Season

Moussa Djenepo is undoubtedly one of the biggest disappointments of this season. Since his return to Standard last summer, the Malian winger has had a string of more than average performances. Yesterday (Saturday), Ivan Leko even decided to take him out before the end of the first period.

After the meeting, the Croatian coach was questioned about this choice. Here is his response: “It’s a decision taken on a physical level. Moussa seemed to lack energy. He trained well this week and was also very good at playing against Mechelen. We could wait but when a player is objectively not having a good day, why wait? These are also times when you feel that the team needs a change and we were better after the rise of William Balikwisha.”

Insufficient

Since the start of the season, Djenepo has only scored one goal and has not provided a single assist in twenty-eight matches played.
