Polish javelin thrower Maria Andrejczyk, a silver medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, has auctioned her honor to co-fund the operation of an infant with heart disease. “I hope this will symbolize for you the life for which we fought together”, she wrote on Monday August 16 on Facebook. The auctions brought in 200,000 zlotys (approximately 44,000 euros). The money will support a fundraiser to finance the operation in the United States of Milosz, an eight-month-old boy with a heart defect. At the same time, hundreds of people took part in the collection, making it possible to collect the sum necessary for the operation.
