Matthieu Boidin has just succeeded Sébastien Picou as president of the Judo Plaisir 56 club of Ploërmel (Morbihan). “I thank him for his ten years of presidency”, underlines the new president. The board is also composed of Olivier Billard (treasurer), Alice Noyalet (secretary) and Angelo Torcoletti (member).

Obtain the regional title

The 25-year-old new president started judo at the age of 5. In 2010, he joined the Pôle espoir in Rennes, where he spent three years in this sports study structure. The judoka won the title of senior individual champion of Brittany in 2018 and 2019, in the under 81 kg category. With the team of CPB Rennes, he climbed in 2020 on the third step of the podium in the championship of France 2e division and contested the championship of France 1re Division in Brest.

“It was my first experience in 1re Division. This season, my goal is to obtain the regional title and especially to reach the championships of France 1re Individual division “.

Currently, in the under 90 kg category, Matthieu Boidin will see if it is possible to come down to find his under 81 kg category.

“We hope to resume normal activity”

After two complicated seasons for health reasons, the club leaves with uncertainties. “We are a bit in the dark. We hope to resume normal activity, keep good group cohesion with young people involved. You will probably need a health pass to participate in the competitions. “

Training has resumed at the regional martial arts center since the end of June. “We hope that the dynamics of the France team at the Olympic Games will bring us licensees. “

The club aims to maintain more than one hundred licensees. Judo Plaisir 56 can count on Ibrahim Moginot, a trainer specializing in Brazilian jujitsu, from judo to the ground. “For a year, he has been with us and brings added value compared to Brazilian jujitsu”, emphasizes Matthieu Boidin. This discipline brings together about fifteen licensees.

The club welcomes children from 5 years old. It offers awakening judo, educational judo for young people, leisure judo for adults, competitive judo, Brazilian jujitsu and technical judo / kata.
