GREENSBORO, NC – Kevin Kisner had a birdie on the second overtime hole to win the Wyndham Championship on Sunday.

Kisner placed his approach three feet from the hole and he putted his putt to claim a first PGA Tour victory since 2019 and a fourth in his career.

Kisner started the day four head shots and handed in a 66 (minus-4) card. His cumulative under-15 score was tied by Canada’s Roger Sloan, Adam Scott, Kevin Na, Si Woo Kim and Branden Grace.

Kisner was 0-5 in career overtime before triumphing on the Sedgefield course.

As Scott found himself in front of a putt from a distance of four feet for a birdie on the first overtime hole, Kisner believed he would have to send his approach to the bottom of the cup to stay alive, and he did. almost succeeded.

Scott missed his putt, however, bringing all six golfers back to the tee on the 18th hole. This time only Kisner was able to place the ball a few feet from the cup.

Kim brought in a 64 card in the final round. Scott played 65 while Sloan, Grace and Na all scored 66.

It was the third six-player overtime in PGA Tour history and a first since Robert Allenby won in 2001.

Before the start of the final round, it seemed far-fetched to think that overtime would be necessary. Russell Henley, who led after each of the first three rounds, however fell to the ground playing 71.

Canadians Nick Taylor (64) and Adam Hadwin (66) made it into the top-10 with a cumulative score of under-13. Their compatriots Mackenzie Hughes (69) and Michael Gligic respectively took the 37th and 65th echelons.
