First major milestone for the Reggio athletes called to compete at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. This is the performance of Enza Petrilli, capable of reaching the round of 16 in women’s archery.

The athlete originally from Taurianova finished fourth in the qualification standings and can thus advance in the tournament and continue to feed medal dreams. Specifically, Petrilli has totaled a score of 625 reaching her personal best and making everyone understand how she represents a fierce competitor for the top positions, despite being her absolute debut on the most important stage of world sport.

Considering the places obtained by the Italians, – Elisabetta Mijno completes the second ranking – the two blue will take part in the second round on Thursday 2 September without going through the 16th. Enza Petrilli will see it, therefore, against the winner between the Korean Jo and the Australian Oktrininda. All that remains is to wait for the next steps and find out how far the Reggio pride of archery can be pushed.
