The countdown for the Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Games begins, now in its sixteenth edition. The event starts at 13 Italian time. The blue dream in Tokyo continues, with also our local athletes Martina Rabbolini, Alberto Amodeo and Federico Morlacchi. THE flag bearer officers of our colors will be Baby saw (fencing) and ours Federico Morlacchi (I swim).

Tokyo 2020 Paralympics
The sixteenth edition of the Paralympics, which will be played from today 24 August to 5 September, the opening ceremony will be held from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm (Italian time), while the closing ceremony will take place from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm (Italian time).
The program of Tokyo 2020 Paralympics consists of 539 events for a total of 22 sports divided into 21 locations.
The disciplines in competition
Here are the date of the various competitions in the race, with the new entries: the for badminton and the for taekwondo
Arco: 27 August-4 September; Athletics: August 27-September 5; Badminton: September 1-5; Bocce: 28 August-4 September; Canoe Sprint: 2-4 September; Boating: August 27-29; Football to 5: 29 August-4 September; Cycling (track): August 25-28; Cycling (road): July 31-September 3; Equitation: August 27-30; Goalball: 25 August-3 September; Judo: 27-29 August; I swim: 25 August-3 September; Powerlifting: August 26-30; Threw: August 30-September 5; Table tennis: 25 August-3 September; Taekwondo: 2-4 September; Triathlon: August 28-September 29; Sitting Volleyball: August 27-September 5; Wheelchair Basket: 25 August-5 September; Wheelchair Fencing: August 25-29; Wheelchair Rugby: August 25-29 and Wheelchair Tennis: August 27-September 4.
The athletes involved
A total of 4,400 sportsmen will be involved in the games. The Italian delegation in particular has a high number of participants: the largest ever ea female majority. Out of 113 athletes, 61 are women and the remaining 52 are men. The group will be engaged in 16 disciplines, with official Bebe Vio flag bearers (fencing) e Federico Morlacchi (I swim).
The sports of the area
We said at the beginning that there is also expectation for our two local athletes.
Martina Rabbolini, young swimmer of Villa Cortese belonging to Team Legnano Swimming is in his second Paralympics after that of Rio 2016.

Amodeo is back from Funchal European Championships, in Portugal, where it has won two silver medals in the 400m sl and in the 100m butterfly and a bronze medal in the 100m sl
Thanks to these results he obtained the pass for Tokyo 2020.
Participate in Paralympics also Simone Barlaam, world excellence of Cassinetta of Lugagnano, near 
Abbiategraso.
Seven times World Champion, eight times European champion, world record holder in the 50’s and 100’s freestyle, in the 50 and 100 back and 50 dolphin category S9.
Barlaam said he was ready to excite us at Paralympics in Tokyo, scheduled for tomorrow 24 August.
In the land of the rising sun also the swimmer from Varese by adoption Federico Morlacchi, flag bearer together with Baby saw and winner of three medals at the last Olympics of Rio (one gold and two silvers), which in addition to the joy of the competition has to add that of the paternity.
