“Ogre” adds an American match manager and 20-year-old Bērziņš

Latvian basketball club “Ogre” has strengthened its line-up with the American match manager Breilon Reison, the club informs. The 26-year-old Reison played in Canada for the past four seasons, with a six-month break representing the team in China.

In his last season at Sadbury’s Five team, Reison averaged 22.4 points in 19 Canadian championship games, returned 7.1 assists and won 4.8 rebounds. Reisons was the third most successful player in the league. In college basketball, Reison represented Central University of Michigan.

Also next season, 20-year-old Latvian basketball player Ojārs Bērziņš, who has been under the auspices of the Spanish club Murcia UCAM since 2018, will play next season. Last season, the Latvian basketball player “Cartagena” became the champion of the fourth fourth league in Spain. In the 30 matches he spent, he spent an average of 26 minutes on the court, during which he scored ten points, won four rebounds, returned one assists and intercepted one ball.

In his last season in Latvia in 2017/2018, Bērziņš stood out with 29 points and 2.1 assists in 29 games for Valmiera / ORDO, but in the Baltic Basketball League in 12 matches his account averaged 5.8 points and 2 .4 assists. Bērziņš helped the team to win silver at the European U18 Championship held in Latvia in 2018.

“Ogre” won bronze in the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League last season. In the Latvian Basketball League, the Ogre team also reached the bronze series, which was stopped due to Covid-19.
