The franchise from the professional league NBA announced the commitment of the 29-year-old on Saturday evening (local time) on their homepage. The Rockets did not provide any information about the term of the contract.
According to media reports, the center from Salzgitter will receive 35.6 million dollars (around 30 million euros) for a four-year contract. Theis moved to the Chicago Bulls in March after three and a half years with the Boston Celtics and had been without a contract since the end of the season.
“Daniel is a versatile center that is effective on both sides of the court,” said Rafael Stone, general manager of the Rockets: “We look forward to giving coach (Stephen, ed.) Silas even more flexibility.”
