Nina Derwael is back home after 17 hours of travel: “Nice that I shed tears” | Inland

It was with clammy hands that Nina Derwael boarded the helicopter in Sint-Truiden just after 8 p.m. last night, which had to take her to the TV program ‘Van hier tot in Tokio’ at lightning speed. Not that our gymnastics pride suffers from fear of heights, but a turbulent flight is something different from floating between two uneven bars. With her beaming appearance at Karl Vannieuwkerke’s table, a not so busy, but extremely tiring day came to an end for Golden Nina. Where not only the long return flight from Tokyo, but especially the four-hour layover in Frankfurt was much in between.
