NFL: more mental health resources available to players

TOWNSHIP, Ohio – The Football Hall of Fame Behavioral Health Program has partnered with the largest telepsychiatry care provider in the United States to improve the lives of current and past players of the NFL.

Array Behavioral Care has over 20 years of experience in telepsychiatry. Its network of professionals is established in more than 50 major markets across the United States.

The Football Hall of Fame Behavioral Health Program was established in May to support current and past players. A partnership has also been entered into with the US Army Special Forces Foundation to support its members and their families.

“The discourse about mental health and wellness is changing thanks to strong voices in the athlete community and programs like the Hall of Fame,” commented Calais Campbell, a veteran of the athlete. 13 seasons as a defensive lineman.

“Performing at a high level means more than just working on physical strength and endurance. It also means putting your mental well-being first, ”continued the one who currently lines up with the Baltimore Ravens.

“Beyond just talking about it, we need to provide easy access to mental health support resources. Having access to a counselor or motivator should be as easy for an athlete as accessing the training room, ”Campbell said.

The Special Forces Foundation is a non-profit organization that offers a series of programs designed to support the military after nearly two decades of fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq. Services are also offered to the families of soldiers killed in action.
