Sunday 3rd week NFL DFS preseason picks

Jacksonville contre Dallas Showdown

Jacksonville Defense – Defenses are the most consistent games of the Showdown preseason. Jacksonville has a slight advantage over Dallas as a 3.5-point favorite. They also benefit from being confronted Garrett Gilbert, Ben DiNucci and Cooper Rush.

Dallas Defense – Dallas is a slightly less attractive option as an underdog at 3.5 points. They will still face CJ Beathard and Jake Luton for most of the game once Trevor Lawrence is on the bench.

Josh Lambo – Kickers are also solid options in Showdown. Dallas and Jacksonville only have one kicker on the list. Jacksonville has the slightly higher implied team total, so Josh Lambo takes the lead over Greg Zuerlein. Both are good games.

JaQuan Hardy –Dallas won’t be playing their starters here, which means Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard should both rest for most of this game. With Rico Dowdle also hitting the injured reserve, the Cowboys find themselves with Hardy and Brenden Knox to handle all the back-up work. Hardy played 24 snaps last week and carried six times for nine yards. He also added five receptions for 20 yards.

Brenden Knox – Also benefiting from a narrow backfield, Knox will complement Hardy in the Cowboy’s backfield. Former product Marshall played 17 snaps last week. He covered five times over eight yards and received no target.

Ben DiNucci – Dallas will use three quarters here. Ben DiNucci has played 23 and 34 snaps in consecutive weeks. Last week, he completed 14 of 19 passes for 120 yards and three interceptions. However, he has a dual threat ability, rushing ten yards twice.

Trevor Laurent – Lawrence played 34 snaps last week. The holders will also play today, but their playing time is uncertain. This makes Lawrence better at GPP.

Simi Fehoko – Dallas will play with fewer healthy receivers. Drafted from Stanford on Matchday 3, Simi Fehoko continues to fight for a place in the team. He’s played 33 and 29 snaps in straight weeks for Dallas.

Collin Johnson – Jacksonville is deeper in each position making them less attractive targets overall. However, Collin Johnson has played 32 and 23 snaps in consecutive weeks. He caught a pass for 24 yards and a score last week. It can be used in GPP.

Strategist

Nathan Peterman – The Raiders will be using a quarterback today, instantly propelling Nathan Peterman to the top of the quarterback roster. He completed 16 of 24 passes for 172 yards and one scoring last week in the same role. He also ran five times for 35 yards.

Felipe Franks – Atlanta will not play Matt Ryan. AJ McCarron hit the injured reserve, leaving Franks and the new Josh Rosen to manage quarterback duties. Franks played 38 snaps last week. He completed four of nine passes for 46 yards and one interception as Atlanta decided to throw the ball over and over. Fortunately, Franks has a double threat ability and has rushed three times for 32 yards himself.

Mac Jones – The Patriots will use three quarters today, but Mac Jones continues to enjoy extended playing time in the preseason. Jones has played 33 and 42 snaps in straight weeks. He completed 13 of 19 passes for 146 yards last year.

Trey Lance – San Francisco will use three quarters today. However, they continue to give their rookie Trey Lance an extended run. Lance has played 29 and 34 snaps in straight weeks for the 49ers. Last week, he completed eight of 14 passes for 102 yards and a pair of scores. An elite double threat, he also rushed for eight yards.

To recover

Trey Ragas – Las Vegas plans to seat Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake. This will again leave only Trey Ragas and BJ Emmons to handle the job. Ragas has played 40 and 24 snaps in consecutive weeks. He wore six times for 1 yard last week.

BJ Emmons – Emmons is in the same situation as Ragas for Las Vegas. He played 18 and 15 snaps for consecutive weeks. Emmons carried eight times for 34 yards last week. With more efficiency, this backfield should produce more usable fantasy scores today.

JJ Taylor – The Patriots will give Damien Harris and James White little to no playing time today. This leaves Taylor and Rhamondre Stevenson to do most of the work. Taylor has played 16 and 26 snaps in straight weeks this preseason. He carried 12 times for 93 yards last week, while adding three receptions for 18 yards.

Rhamondre Stevenson – Stevenson has played 15 and 25 snaps this preseason. He carried 15 times for 66 yards and a pair of scores while adding a reception for 8 yards last week.

Qadree Olison – After injury prevented him from making preseason Week 1, Ollison returned to play 18 snaps in Week 2. He carried seven times for 21 yards. Atlanta has since cut Javian Hawkins, reducing the backfield to three players. Caleb Huntley is also an option in GPP.

D’Ernest Johnson – Apparently “selected starters” will play in this game. Boulanger Mayfield was mentioned by name, but Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunting are a mystery. If they continue to receive veteran treatment, Johnson could again be an option today. Johnson has played 24 and 25 snaps in straight weeks for Cleveland. He carried four times for 36 yards last week, while adding four receptions for 23 yards.

Démétrique Felton – Felton could benefit from a slim backfield from Cleveland. Felton is the UCLA rookie and pass-catching specialist. He’s played 26 and 16 snaps so far this preseason. Last week, he carried eight times for 25 yards, while adding a catch for 12 yards.

Wide receiver

Dillon Stoner – Las Vegas hasn’t played Henry Ruggs, Hunter Renfrow, Bryan Edwards, John Brown, Willie Snead or John Brown for meaningful shots this entire preseason. With list discounts, Las Vegas has five receivers available on the list. Willie Snead and Zay Jones played two and three snaps last week, essentially reducing that to a three-way show. Stoner led the team with 40 shots. He caught one of three targets for seven yards.

DJ turner – Turner is in the same situation as Stoner. He caught his two targets for 19 yards yesterday. He played 34 and 32 snaps in this year’s preseason. Keelan Doss would be the third option to target for this offense.

Kristian Wilkerson – New England are thin at the receiver level, with N’Keal Harry and Gunner Olszewski banged up. Wilkerson has played 32 and 39 snaps in straight weeks as he fights for a place in the roster. He caught all three targets for 36 yards last week.

David SillsKenny Golladay, Sterling Shepard, Kadarius Toney, John Ross and Austin Mack any plans to miss this game. Same Darius Slayton missed practice time this week and should be considered questionable. This should see Sills getting an extended run again in Week 3. Sills has played 32 and 40 snaps so far this preseason. Last week he caught three of five targets for 31 receiving yards.

Davion Davis – Even with beginners supposed to play a bit here, Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry shouldn’t see the ground for Cleveland. Davis has been at the center of Cleveland’s offense this preseason, playing 24 and 33 snaps in straight weeks. Last week Davis led the team in reception with three catches for 45 yards on four targets.

Jalen Hurd – Hurd could make his debut today. Hurd looks like a lock to make the list, despite an injury-riddled career. He has performed well in previous preseason, putting him on the line for GPP.

Franck Darby – Atlanta barely pitched the ball last week and they will play this game with seven healthy receivers. Darby is a three-day choice in the state of Arizona. He played 32 and 21 snaps for consecutive weeks. He caught his two targets for 27 yards last week and is expected to continue to be evaluated in Week 3.

Tight end

Devin AsiasiHunter Henry, Jonnu Smith and Matt LaCosse were all hit in the Patriots’ court, leaving Asiasi as New England’s only healthy tight end. He played 52 snaps last week but failed to catch a target. He should beat those numbers today.

Jordan Franks – Cleveland played against the Franks for 42 shots last week. With Connor Davis hitting the injured reserve, Franks could play even more here. He caught three of seven targets for 18 yards last week.

John Raine – Atlanta is thin on the tight end, but the concern is their heavy running tendency this preseason. Raine went without a hitch on a target last week, but ran the most runs among tight ends for Atlanta. It is a GPP consideration.
