With “The W”, the WNBA experience of NBA 2K takes on a new dimension as the mode has been considerably developed on the edition to be released on September 10th.
The main novelty of the mode lies in the involvement of the best players and legends of the WNBA since they will be at the heart of your progress. It will be up to you to build up a network of the most prestigious contacts in order to improve your skills by training or by facing these legends on 1-against-1, 2-against-2 or 3-against-3 in 21 points.
“Contact cases” to be multiplied
Each legend will help you progress in the different sectors of the game according to the skills of the star players called upon such as Elena Delle Donne, A’Ja Wilson or Candace Parker. This will be the essence of the “Contact workshop”, detailed here by 2K:
“Each contact specializes in different skills and will help you improve one of your badge categories. Win against the player to dramatically improve your badge in this category. If you can’t overcome your touch the first time around, that’s okay. You can try again as many times as you want ”.
Non-match days will also be an opportunity to give new directions to your player’s career, with new activities that will influence your progress, your popularity or your wallet. Matches and training sessions will remain the best way to improve your character.
Note that your good understanding with the members of the staff will be invaluable, and may offer you some ongoing “bonuses”. “Coaches can be of use to you, as can former WNBA players”, specifies 2K.
New features to explore in online mode
Like last year, “The W” online mode is back, only for “next-gen” consoles, with some new features, including the ability to connect with your friends before “matchmaking”. Online oppositions also make it possible to gain experience and also to win new prizes and rewards, such as the presence of legendary contacts that can then be faced in “Contact Workshop”.
Each legendary contact available in online mode will change with each new Season, this principle being extended this season to “The W” and “MyCareer” modes in addition to “MyTeam” mode.
