Athlete Marc Tur, who was fourth in the 50-kilometer march of the Tokyo Games, explained that he is “openly gay” in a post on his Twitter account. The Ibizan had previously defended the LGTBI collective on social networks and had also denounced some of the injustices that are still in force in society. “I am openly gay, nor am I one of the first homosexual Olympians to recognize it, nor do I expect to be one of the last,” the marcher insisted. The Olympic champion in Tokyo of the synchronized ten-meter springboard, Britain’s Tom Daley, also said during the Games that he was “proud” to be gay.
