With a delegation led by the medalists in the National Games of the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (Conade) 2021, Ian Aguirre and Emiliano Reyes, Oaxacan judokas are getting ready to participate in the Daniel F Hernández Children’s National Tournament.
The president of the Association of Judokas of the State of Oaxaca, Lenin Velasco López, reported that the national contest will be selective for the under 15 and under 13 categories will be held in the city of Oaxtepec, Morelos, on a date yet to be confirmed.
He added that due to the increase in infections caused by COVID-19, the date of the selective tournament for the 2021 Pan American Judo Championship for Children has not been defined, with a date and venue yet to be confirmed.
Velasco López mentioned that Oaxaca will participate with in the Daniel F Hernández National Judo Tournament with a team made up of about 15 gladiators of the under 15 and under 13 categories, in which Ina Aguirre and Emiliano Reyes stand out, gold and silver medalists respectively in the recently held Conade 2021 National Games, which presents them with arguments to seek a place in the National Children’s Judo Team.
He pointed out that due to the coronavirus pandemic it has not been possible to have regular training sessions, however, the state selected ones remain active in their homes with training advice so that they can maintain good physical condition.
