Recently in a Twitch transmission, the Colombian assured that he still needs to play in the Italian League, which increased the rumors of a possible arrival at Milan. It was even stated that the key to his arrival is through Rafael Leao, who if he accepts a transfer to another team, would allow the Italians to make the investment for James.
Additionally, another reason why the England club would allow James to leave is financial, Benítez is aware of the need to get more out of money, so releasing the midfielder would help, as he is the highest paid player on the squad.
