Tokyo 2020, women’s team archery: Italy surrenders in the quarterfinals against Korea

Proof of strength of the Korea in the quarter-finals of women’s team archery in Tokyo 2020. The Koreans they beat Italy 6-0 (58-54, 56-52, 56-49), proving to be already very ready for the final. For their part, the Azzurre offer a good performance, starting strong with a good first set that also saw the two 10s of Boari. The Italian team pays some sporadic individual errors, with Rebagliati appearing slightly subdued. Third set not at the level of the first two for the Azzurri, but against this Korea there was very little to do. The Asians will face the winner between Belarus and Japan in the semifinals.

In the round of 16, the Azzurre had eliminated Great Britain with a score of 3-5. The first set went to the British, due to a 6 by Rebagliati that allows the opponents to win 52-51. In the second set, however, Great Britain continued at high rates without ever finding acute, being overtaken by Italy which also scored two 10s: the set ended 52-54. Third set of the lowest level, in which Italy still wins by 45-46, while the fifth set ended with a tie for 53-53.
