Golf (F): Successful first round for Sagström, Delacour and Boutier at a good distance – Summer Games

While Madelene Sagström concluded the first round of the Olympic tournament in first place, Perrine Delacour and Céline Boutier are not in contact with the Swede.

After the Olympic title of Xander Sc Chaudele among men, it is the best players in the world who are explained. And it was Madelene Sagström who got the best start on the par 71 of the Country Club of Kasumigaseki. Thanks to a go marked by four birdies then a last one on the tenth hole, the 75th world signed the best card of the day, five strokes under par. The Swede, however, did not make the difference as Nelly Korda and Aditi Ashok follow one stroke. The world number 1, daughter of former tennis player Petr Korda, had a complicated start to the day with two bogeys on the first four holes. The American, however, reacted with the birdie on holes 5, 6 and 8 to complete the first half of the course. She then added two birdies at holes 14 and 15 to wrap up this first round with four strokes under par. Aditi Ashok, on the other hand, could hope to finish up to Madelene Sagström after her birdie on the 17th but she trembled on the last hole and conceded her only bogey of the day to finish four strokes under par.

Delacour serious, Boutier will have to react

First Tricolor in the general classification, Perrine Delacour concluded the day with a blow under par, sharing 16th place with New Zealander Lydia Ko in particular. A first round that the Frenchwoman started with a bogey at hole number 4 but, fortunately , it was her only. Thanks to the birdies gleaned at the three 8’s and 14’s, Perrine Delacour is only four strokes behind Madelene Sagström. She even offers herself the luxury of doing better than the recent winner of the Evian Championship, the Australian Minjee Lee. The latter, with a delicate end of the course, could not do better than par. Céline Boutier, meanwhile, squandered a promising first-round start. Indeed, with the birdie made on the three 2, 5 and 6, the Frenchwoman erased her first missed hole. But then it got really complicated. Indeed, the 59th player in the world conceded four bogeys on the last ten holes of the course and ended the day tied for 41st place with two strokes over par. If it intends to weigh on the rest of this Olympic tournament, the Habs will have to react in the second round on Thursday.TOKYO / GOLF SUMMER GAMES (F)Ranking at the end of the first round (par 71) – Wednesday August 4, 20211- Madelene Sagström (SUE) 662- Nelly Korda (USA) 67 Aditi Ashok (IND) 674- Matilda Castren (FIN) 68 Jin Young Ko (CdS) 68 Carlota Ciganda (ESP) 687- Bianca Pagdanganan (PHI) 69 Inbee Park (CdS) 69 Klara Splikova (RTC) 69 Nanna Koerstz Madsen (DAN) 69 Wei-Ling Hsu (TAI) 69 Azahara Munoz (ESP) 69 Danielle Kanf (USA) 69 Sei Young Kim (CdS) 69 Min Le (TAI) 6916- Perrine Delacour (FRA) 7041- Céline Boutier (FRA) 70
