WASHINGTON.

The team Washington Football Team from NFL, which dropped the controversial nickname “Redskins“(Redskins) last year, he said will prohibit to the spectators wearing Native American ceremonial headdresses or face paint during home games.

After the sponsor pressure and a greater social concern in the United States because of racial problems, the team abandoned its name for a generic one with plans to adopt a new permanent nickname in 2022.

Last season, fans were not allowed to the games at the house of Washington due to the pandemic of Covid-19.

Native American-inspired ceremonial headdresses or face paint can no longer be worn in the stadium, “the club announced.

The first preseason game in the House of Washington will be the August 20th vs Cincinnati and the first regular season game of the team will host the September 12 against Los Angeles ‘Chargers’.

Whatever the new name that is chosen, will not associate with Native Americans.

We have made significant changes to our organization and culture, and our new name should reflect these changes. To that end, we will choose an identity that unequivocally departs from any use or approximate link to Native American imagery, “said Jason Wright, team president.
