The German basketball cup winner FC Bayern Munich announced another signing on Tuesday: Augustine Rubit comes from the Lithuanian top club Zalgiris Kaunas. The American can be used as a power forward and center. “He’s another variable big man who can play both positions,” Bayern sports director Daniele Baiesi is quoted as saying.
The 32-year-old has already gained BBL experience. At Brose Bamberg he played under today’s Bayern coach Andrea Trinchieri in the 2017/18 season and won the cup there in 2019. In the Bundesliga he was on the pitch a total of 187 times, the average is 13 points. Now he is returning to the league and is the ninth new addition to the Munich basketball team.
Bayern will play the first game of preparation against Dinamo Sassari (Friday, 6.30 p.m.).
